Advice on using brushes for makeup application and contouring?
I just bought a professional brush set and would like to know some good tips on applying makeup and contouring. I’m only use to applying my makeup with my fingers; ie. foundation, concealer, and eye shadow.

evie answers:
For applying makeup, everyone has different opinions. There are lots of vids on youtube that explain different opinions, so you can go see for yourself.
For contouring, you can use bronzer or a dark blush. Suck in your cheeks and apply the product in the hollows, but more towards your ears. You don’t want to go all the way down to your lips.

Any help with makeup tips for alien looking eyes?
I am having a mid year party at work and its theme is space.
I would like to dress up as a hot alien… but i don’t know how to do the make up for the eyes or outfit ideas?
I am slim and have friends in the makeup industry who can help with difficult applications of makeup but any pictures of ideas or websites would be great.

Help with Kat Von D style eye makeup?
I’m dressing up as Kat Von D for Halloween and I think I’ve got a great costume. The only thing I’m not so sure about is how to do my eye makeup… she wears such high-pigment eye shadow! Does she wear cream shadow? Any tips for application?

evie answers:
I don’t believe she wears cream eyeshadow, looking at a close picture of her face it looks as if she more than likely applies an eyeshadow primer first and then applies her shadow on top. If you don’t have eyeshadow primer you can either use a cream shadow as the base for your eyeshadow or you can go on youtube and look at how to make your own primer (it’s really simple to do, it only takes two products that you probably already have around), i suggest to watch addicted2opi on youtube, she has a great video on eyeshadow primer! And then after you primer your lids just use any eyeshadow you have, you don’t need to go out and buy any for this. The primer should set the eyeshadow and make it stay all night and it will show the color vibrantly! Make sure to wear lots of eye liner, maybe a winged look would be good?! Good luck!

Eye makeup help – asian eyes?
Hey guys! I’m so sick of searching for tips for girls with asian eyes because “asian eyes” is way too general, and a lot of times those little makeup tips don’t work on me. So here’s a link to a pic of my eyes without any eye makeup (sorry about the random shadow on the right of my eye, it was my finger on the camera): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v50/starstrukk/Eye.jpg
Could you girls please give me some makeup ideas? Just the same old eyeliner and mascara application gets boring. Thanks a lot! I know I’m not giving you much to work with.

evie answers:
Im asian. But i don’t have the kind of eyes that you do since mines are larger and i have one double fold and one single fold.. X__x;
but usually what i do is take eye shadow, not eyeliner (eye liner or liquid is WAYY too hard on the eyes)
first, take light eye shadow (brown, which i usually use), apply golden brown on it, then darker brown to make it more define on the lid but not entirely covering the golden brown (it should be dominant), use highlights for the arch part and under the eyes…
Then the eyeshadow liner time…
Take a darker brown, and go around your eyes like eye liner, even on the bottom too.
Then take black and use the sponge brush thing and delicately put some touch up on the ends of the eyes where the brown is to make a more dramatic look and it makes your eyes look biger too..
Then take mascara, black or brown, whichever you prefer, and go a bit thick on the lashes (i use sephora mascara renversant: extends curls and volumizes < this REALLY works, i friggin dun have any eyelashes XD) on the top AND BOTTOM… And it’ll look nicer…
But it can’t be finished without and eyebrow definer!! Don’t use the pencil solely (because it gives a very very hard and rough look), but take the pencil and put it on the brush for eyebrows and do it from there– but usually what i do.. Is.. Hm.. I take a brush, and take eyeshadow (brown; lol everything is eyeshadow) and colour it over.. And use darker brown afterwards (my eyesbrows are brown cuz my hair is brown) to cover up the parts where the other brown couldnt’ cover.. And make it even and look looking.. More arched and stuff..
So this is what i look like with make up:

something like that anyway…
Btw im not a make up artist… But if it looks nice, then yeah.

sorry about the old link! this one should work!

You have like the perfect lid!! Literately all you need is a pair of fake eyelashes and Smokey eye pencil and rub it over your lid, smudge it alittle and go over the top part of your lid with a color, maybe a copper or brown with gold flakes. Start dark over the eyepencil and blend it out, do not just put it on all over the eye, you have to just swip a little on the edge and blend it with the brush or your finger, and a little bit of blush or cream blush on your finger on your cheeks, rub it in, and you are set, or and make sure your brows are arched! You go girl! Good luck/??? ???/??
