-thickens the eyelash for a full, volumous look
-lengthens for a dramatic look
-and no clumps

I love Max Factor’s new 2000 calorie formula. I get compliments every time I wear it. I think mascara is the essential beauty item! Almay’s One Coat is great and MAC makes some fun colored mascara. Other than that, I wouldn’t waste a lot of money on “designer” mascara because here’s one instance when drugstore beats out the competition.

BeSt MaScArA!?

please give me suggestions and tell me which mascaras you would recommend??????????????????????????

I love bourjois maxi mascara extreame volumising length mascara, with this they never clump together. I have tried all the mascaras you can think of and this is the best by far.

When choosing a mascara, consider the types of mascara and select one appropriate for your lashes and the occasion. You have a choice of lengthening, thickening, long-wearing, conditioning and waterproof formulas, among others. For day, you might decide to add length, while a night on the town may require a long-wearing or thickening formula. For me, mac mascaras are the best as i like to add length to my lashes.

You didnt mention the natural colour of your lashes? If you have blond or red lashes, opt for brown mascara. Darker-lashed women can consider brown for a casual look, and black or brown-black for more pronounced or dramatic lashes.

When applying mascara a great tip is to curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, it will make your lashes look heaps longer. Remove the wand from the tube in one pull. Pumping the mascara will push air into the tube, potentially drying out the formula and introducing bacteria into it.

Begin with the underside of your upper lashes, moving the brush slowly upward toward the tips of your lashes. Always hold the wand parallel to your eyelid. Roll the brush slowly on the upward stroke to promote separation of the lashes.

Allow the first coat of mascara to dry before applying the second coat in the same manner. Use an eyelash comb to separate the wet lashes. Also blot the lashes with tissue paper if necessary to remove excess mascara. Use less mascara for the lower lashes. Begin where the lashes meet the rim of the lower eyelid, and gently stroke downward. Remove any stray mascara around the eye with a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of eye makeup remover.

Hope this helps

Richard asks…

What is the best mascara out there that volumizes and legthens?

What is the best mascara out there that volumizes and legthens? Please share from personal experiences! I’m trying to find the best mascara out there.

evie answers:

I personally can’t stand Maybelline’s Great Lash (the pink tube with the green top). The product is a bit runny and it doesn’t dry quickly. I hardly notice that it’s done anything to my lashes.

My fave is Almay’s “One Coat” mascara. It really does do the job in one coat, and it’s never “clumped” for me, unless I’m getting to the bottom of the tube, which is when I should replace anyway b/c it’s probably just getting old too.

The rose-smelling sounds cool just for the novelty, but I can’t bring myself to spend more than $10 for mascara (or really any single makeup item).

Susan asks…

What kidn of best mascara when you apply it does not look like you use mascara?

Hi all,

I want to buy the best kind of mascara that when you apply one or two coats and it does not look like that you are using mascara at all however it will lengthen and curve your lashes? Do you know any of them actually exist? Thanks so much ^)^.

evie answers:

Use a clear mascara, OR for a really natural look try eyelash curlers… Not heated ones or anything just simple ones and make sure you start at the base of the lash and press a few times working from the base to the tip. You could try curling your lashes to get them curled and then use a clear mascara to add volume. Get a mascara with a bigger brush for volume and again start at the base, and wiggle the brush a little as you work your way out.

Linda asks…

What is the best mascara to purchase on a budget?

I know theres tons of great expensive mascaras out there but I also know that a mascara you buy at Walmart/ CVS type store can produce the same results for a much lower price. What mascara is your opinion is the best? ( Right now I use MAC plump lash and im not impressed). Thank you everyone :)

evie answers:

Well, I have tried over twenty mascaras at this point mostly drugstore and about four high end. I have noticed that drugstore ones do definitely work better. I was not impressed with the $25 Dior mascara that I bought because it dried out within a week, I`m not kidding. Biggest rip off ever. I thought just because it was from Dior it would be fab. Boy was I wrong, LOL!

The best drugstore mascara in my opinion is Maybelline XXL Extensions. It gives a really dramatic false eyelash look. The color Very Black is the best to get because it will really make your eyes pop. The primer on this double ended mascara really thickens and builds the lashes up to look like a fringe and then you put the mascara side on and it lengthens them. Awesome mascara.

I highly recommend this to you. This is one of my all time favorite mascaras. I also love the fact that it doesn`t have a bad smell, doesn`t clump, flake, smudge, or smear. Hope I helped.
